Special Solutions for Special Needs

Advocacy - Resources- Solutions

Navigating the world of Special Education can be confusing and frustrating...

But it doesn't have to. SPARC was created to help you navigate all things special education and behavior related. I can help advocate for you with the school and consult with you about how to handle behaviors at home.

Knowing where to start and how to approach the school can be intimidating. Once the process is started, the paperwork can feel overwhelming. Most of the time schools want to be helpful but the lingo surrounding special education can cause miscommunications. And unfortunately, sometimes schools do not follow proper protocols and need to be reminded of their legal obligations. I can help you navigate any and all of these scenarios to make sure your child is receiving the services they deserve.

Receiving a diagnosis of a disability or neuro-diversity for your child is a very emotional moment. It can be confusing and make you unsure about their future. Watching your child struggle at school, home, and in the community can be very painful especially if they begin exhibiting problematic or unsafe behaviors. I can consult with you about how to help your child at home and in the community.

Being a parent, especially to a child with special needs or a neuro-diversity is emotional. And that's ok, you're supposed to be emotional about your children. But it doesn't have to be this hard on top of everything else. As an advocate with the school I can make sure your rights are respected, your voice is heard, and your questions are answered. As a behavior consultant I can help you identify why your child is exhibiting problematic behaviors at home or in the community and develop a plan for how to proactively prevent the behaviors as well as how to handle them when they do occur.
